Photo Challenge: Day Six

6. A picture of a person you'd love to trade places with for a day

I know it wouldn't work this way, but I'd love to be in his position and undo some of the things he's done since he became PM.

Photo Challenge: Day One

A picture of yourself with 10 facts
Ok, so this isn't *just* me, but it's the nicest recent I can find on my computer at the moment. This is me with my two girls at Staglands for Zoe's 2nd birthday.

1. I am a first generation NZer on my Mum's side. She came over from Liverpool after she married my Dad (a Kiwi)
2. I got married ridiculously early (22 years old) and am now divorced. (And happily living with Chris and our girls.)
3. I am from New Plymouth and I miss it like crazy some days.
4. I LOVE football (soccer) and V8 supercars
5. I started Uni at 20 years old, studying social work, but am now a trained primary school teacher.
6. I love soppiness. Sappy love stories, romantic notions, I love mushy stuff!
7. I'm a sci-fi fan, big time!
8. I would love to have more children, but I know that I never will.
9. I am crazy proud to be a New Zealander, especially since the Chch earthquake.
10. 90% of my family are in the UK and I would love to go back and see more of them more often.

Not sure those count as "facts" but they are some of the important things on my mind at the moment, so they'll do!
See you tomorrow!

Red and Black day for Canterbury

Annabelle's Kindy (like the rest of NZ) had a Red and Black day today, with a gold coin donation to raise money for earthquake stricken Christchurch.
Zoe wasn't going to miss out, so tried on Daddy's Canterbury rugby shirt as a dress hehehe:

And here is Annabelle in her outfit for the day:

Clever Nan!

My mother is very good at sewing and creating. I suck. Actually, that's not true, I might be ok at it but i HATE sewing.
Therefore, my Mum (aka Nan) gets to create all these wonderful things for my girls. She made both of their Christening gowns, and has made a few costumes for their dress up boxes.
This week she made a Triceratops for Belle and a Pteradactyl for Zoe.

This one is Annabelle's Triceratops costume

145 and rising

http://www.stuff.co.nz/national/christchurch-earthquake/4707095/Earthquake-death-toll-rises-to-145

I have cried so much in the last 4 days. Stay strong Christchurch, the whole of NZ loves and supports you.

Christchurch Earthquake

I have no words. I have sat in front of the tv for almost 24 hours with tears streaming down my face. Fortunately, everyone I know in Chch is safe and accounted for, but so many have been injured and death toll as I type this is set at 75. No doubt this number will climb.

All love and prayers coming your way my Mainland friends, you've had such a tough 6 months. Kia Kaha.

No problems at all!

It has been a week since we ditched Belle's night nappy - and we haven't had a single accident! She toddles off to the loo before she goes to bed and sleeps right through till 7am (ish). I'm so crazy proud!

The next phase of growing up

Annabelle's night nappy has been dry for weeks so it's time to bite the bullet and ditch the nappy. Her brand new Brolley sheets arrived this morning, so as of tonight Annabelle will be 100% nappy free! Huzzah!

I bought two sheets just in case she does wet, but I'm pretty optimistic that she'll be dry every morning :-) Wish us luck!

Next step, start toilet training Zoe...

My favourite photo right now

A question was asked on Cheeky Monkey (http://www.cheekymonkey.org.nz/) today about what your favourite photo is right now.
My choice is this one - taken by my Dad while he was staying with us last week. Love how engrossed the girls are in the story (but I wish I looked a bit happier about reading it to them! hahaha)

Couple of pics from the zoo

I've found that at places like Junglerama, the zoo etc, it's easier to keep track of them if they're wearing the same colour, or even the same outfit! Worked wonders this day because there were lots of holiday programmes on so lots of kiddies running around. Plus, they look so cute in matching outfits! I don't do it often because I think it's a bit mean hehehe.

Zoe and the potty!

Zoe is starting to ask to go "toiyet" - she's too little to sit on the insert that Annabelle uses, so I'm getting her to sit on the potty for now. She hasn't actually done anything in there yet, but I'm all for starting her early! I think it helps that Annabelle asks Zoe to keep her company a lot of the times that she needs to go hahaha

A visitor!

I'm really excited to have my Dad staying with us for two weeks. He was supposed to arrive tomorrow (from New Plymouth), but called this morning and said he was on his way today!
Some frantic cleaning and tidying occured over the next 5 hours, and now, as I type, Chris, Dad and I are sittting watching some football and solving the world's problems.
Happy Days!

Memory Game

In her stocking from Santa, Annabelle got a memory/matching card game. Now every time Zoe is having a nap, or has gone to bed (she goes about 30 mins before Belle), Annabelle wants to play her card game with Daddy! She's getting quite good at it too!

First post of 2011! Zoe's baptism!

I realised as I was scrolling through my posts last night, that I never put up any photos of Zoe's Baptism in November!
So here are just a few:

It was a lovely, informal service. The kids were allowed to run around and Annabelle even got to help with the baptism. I think St. Luke's will be our church of choice from now on!
